Brian, 45 /

"It's really brilliant here. It's really a good kind of outlook to looking forward. It has its rules, of course. I abide by them and they help you as much as they can. They go down every road for you. They're there when you need them.

I got a lot out of the groups. You learn awareness skills about living alone: cooking, decorating and so on. It's taught me that everyone has their own reality. There'd be six to eight people in a group. It helps me look at the different characteristics of people. It taught me a lot of things, the values I missed out on."

At the age of 45, after he separated from his wife, Brian was on the streets, "roughing here and there, anywhere he could get his "head down". Brian came to our transitional programme in George's Hill through a referral. He will soon be ready to move on to independent living. Focus Ireland's Tenancy Support and Settlement Team will work with Brian after he has moved ensuring he receives all the help and support he needs to sustain his new home.
