Focus Ireland was chosen to be the Irish partner of Aviva’s global Street to School Programme in 2010. Street to School recognizes that every child has the right to fulfill their potential. We will be working with Aviva over the next 5 years to end child homelessness by working with school children, researching homelessness prevention and providing support services for those at risk or already homeless. 

In the first year of the partnership the following activity has taken place:  

• Over 150 Aviva staff have participated in fundraising activities – cake sales, book sales, toiletry collections, bus ticket collections.
• Almost 100 staff have volunteered at our projects, painting, landscaping, and helping out at customer events.
• Over 50 staff participated in a sleep out at Aviva headquarters in June.
• Aviva donated many gifts – stadium tickets, clothes, mugs, toys, Christmas presents. 
• Aviva staff participated in our own events – the Highest Peak challenge, the Four Peaks and the Triathlon.
• Through our partnership almost 90,000euro has been raised in 2011 for children who are homeless.
