The Baalsrud Challenge
Could you be one of 50 to rock climb, ski and kayak your way through the arctic region of Norway in the Baalsrud Challenge? The Baalsrud Challenge offers you the opportunity to retrace the steps of Jan Baalsrud, a Norwegian Commando sent together with 11 other Norwegians on a fateful mission from England to the North of Norway in 1943 at the height of German Occupation during WWII. This mission went wrong, 11 men died but Jan escaped with his life.
Your challenge will follow Jan’s journey from the Shetland islands to Rebbensøy in northern Norway’s arctic region; traverse the difficult terrain and follow each stage of Jan’s journey and tell his story through the eyes of 50 candidates that want to change their lives for the better.
The challenge will take almost 18 months to prepare for, taking place in October 2013, and will include Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Skiing, Orienteering and Adventure. In addition it will include excellent training in Practical Leadership Skills, Decisions Making Skills, Teamwork and Strategic planning Skill-sets. For more information on the Baalsrud Challenge please contact Sean Ó Cearrúlláin on hellweekpt@gmail.com or phone on 086 814 8526 or click here.
