Focus Ireland has regretfully decided not to re-open its two Beloved boutiques, which have been closed due to the Covid-19 emergency. For over five years our Beloved stores have been at the heart of communities in Douglas, Malahide and for a time in Waterford and Naas.
The mission of the Beloved boutiques has been to raise vital funds for the work of Focus Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading housing and homelessness charities, to create safe and secure homes for families and those most in need throughout the country. However, over recent years and despite the generous support of donors and volunteers, and the hard work of the staff involved, it has become harder and harder to generate sufficient income from the boutiques, and Focus Ireland has decided to concentrate its efforts in fundraising projects which generate vital funds in a sustainable way.
Over the years, we, in Focus Ireland, have been amazed by the commitment and dedication of our invaluable volunteers. People who have selflessly given their time week-in-week-out to be the face of Focus Ireland in their community. And we would like to thank them for their incredible support.
We have also been overwhelmed by the generous support of people and companies who donated goods for sale in the shops.
We are extremely proud of those that worked with us through the employment placement programmes like Tús and the CE Scheme. Their support has been invaluable to the shop managers over the years, and without doubt they gained a huge amount from their time learning from professional retail staff – our shop managers.
Focus Ireland would like to thank our dedicated staff wholeheartedly for their work over the years. Not only have they managed the shops extremely well, they have forged lasting relationships with our customers, volunteers and the wider community.
