1800 homeless school children need support

1800 homeless school children need support

Tell the Minister for Education that you want action

This September an estimated 1200 homeless children will be going to primary schools around the country and a further 600 to secondary schools facing practical problems like just getting to school from emergency accommodation or not having a place to do their homework. Other problems include bullying, depression and anxiety, poor nutritional health, difficulties concentrating and the family tensions created by their situation.

If the Department of Housing pursues the right policies, there should be no homeless families within a few years. But without the right support right now, the children who are currently homeless may live with the consequences for the rest of their lives. Please add your voice to the campaign.

Call on Minister Bruton to wake up and pay attention! Family homelessness is an educational crisis too.
