Shine A Light At Work

One night, one event - shine a light of hope. On October 13th, staff in companies large and small all around Ireland bed down for one night at work – in the car park, in the garden, on the roof, in the lobby. Join your colleagues and stand in solidarity with families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Last year staff from companies such as Bord Gáis Energy, Facebook, RTÉ and many more slept-out at work and raised vital funds to support Focus Ireland's work helping families, young people and individuals find and keep a safe and secure home.

Will you give one night to change a lifetime?

When many of us think of homelessness we think of people we see sleeping rough in doorways and on the streets. This is only part of a much greater issue. There are families, single men, and single women living in unsuitable, insecure and temporary accommodation all over Ireland. But you can make a difference. Will you give one night to change a lifetime?

A Business Workplace Sleep-Out

You and your colleagues can be a part of something amazing! Focus Ireland is working to bring about real and lasting change for the people who need our help. We are committed to preventing homelessness and supporting people into secure homes. Your support will allow us to reach people on the brink of homelessness and make a real and lasting difference to those individuals, families and children currently living in emergency accommodation. Your support will have an impact and will change lives.

Challenging Homelessness, Changing Lives

Focus Ireland believes that everyone has a right to a place they can call home.  One of our core areas of work is preventing families and individuals becoming homeless in the first place. Homelessness is a frightening and shocking experience for anyone and, for a child, even a short period of being out of home can have a long-term and far reaching impact on their lives. We are working to prevent this from happening and to lessen the impact of homelessness for all.

Get Your Company Involved

By taking part and raising funds you are providing vital support to people on the brink of homelessness, allowing Focus Ireland to reach families who are facing these situations early to ensure they have the support they need to keep their home.

In 2016, there were companies all over Ireland taking part in Shine a Light Night. The money raised allowed us to reach families with the right information, at the right time, to help prevent them from becoming homeless. We know that in order to be able to tackle this crisis effectively, we must prevent families from becoming homeless.

We need your support to reach further and support more families.

Propose taking part in Shine a Light at Work to your Charity/Social Committee, HR or CEO, whoever is most appropriate.
