How can I help?

  • FundraisingOver 40% of our annual income comes from fundraising. 89c of every euro donated to us goes directly on our services which change so many lives every year. If you want to support this, you can organise a fun event in school or with friends, such as:
    • Bake sale
    • Coffee morning
    • Non-uniform day
    • Bag-packing
    • Sports event
    • Sleep out

For more information about how to fundraise, you can visit our fundraising page.

  • Donations – Focus Ireland is always very grateful to receive donations of physical items to help the people we work with.
    • Vouchers are particularly encouraged as they help to empower our customers to choose for themselves what they spend them on based on what they or their families need the most, which would vary from individual to individual. Useful vouchers would be for places such as Aldi, Lidl, Supervalu or Dunnes.
    • However, we do advise that financial donations are ultimately most helpful to our customers as they go directly to supporting our strategic services that prevent homelessness or help people to find a way out of homelessness for good. You can donate here.
    • If you would like to donate some items to our services, the types of items we accept are listed below:
      • Toothbrush, toothpaste
      • Deodorant – roll on
      • Hats, gloves, scarves
      • Thick socks
      • Soap, shower gel, shampoo
      • Wipes
  • If you see someone sleeping rough and want to help:
    • You can report the location of someone who is sleeping rough as well as any other information about the person which will go to the Housing First Intake Team. You can do that via the DRHE’s website here.
  • You can speak out – Through your support we can continue to highlight the important changes that need to be made to prevent homelessness. Campaigning is a very important part of our work and we are committed to keeping the issue on the political agenda. Our current campaign is a petition to end youth homelessness which we will deliver to the Dáil in September. Sign the petition here.
